The Transcarpathian Court of Appeal ruled that the property seized from the leader of the Hungarian Party of Ukraine, Vasyl Brenzovich, constituted material evidence in criminal proceedings. It was previously reported that the Security Service is monitoring him under the treason article.

This decision was made bearing in mind that the property in question is material evidence in criminal proceedings.
On November 30, the SBU conducted searches of the offices of one of the foreign charitable foundations in the Transcarpathian region. Service employees verified information about the fund’s participation in possible interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine and damage to the security of the state of Ukraine with the help of a false extension of the Hungarian legislation to Transcarpathia. SBU found in office materials that popularize the so-called “Greater Hungary” and the creation of ethnic autonomy in Transcarpathia.
Later it became known that the searches were carried out at the Hungarian Party of Ukraine headquarters in Uzhgorod and at Brenzovich’s home.
On the same day, the Hungarian Foreign Ministry summoned the Ukrainian ambassador and expressed dissatisfaction. On December 1, Hungary announced its wish to send a special OSCE follow-up mission to the transcarpathian region of Ukraine.
On December 2, it became known that Brenzovich was preparing a suspicion, and on December 14, that the SBU was reviewing him under the article on treason.
