In 2020, more than 3,3 thousand accidents with children occurred in Ukraine, as well as more than 4 thousand accidents caused by drunk drivers.

In 2020, 3,327 traffic accidents with children occurred in Ukraine, 156 children died and almost 3.7 thousand were injured. Reported by the Center for Public Health on Sunday, January 3.

According to statistics, in 2020 3,327 road accidents were committed with the participation of children (156 children under 18 died and 3,681 were injured), of which 409 were committed due to the fault of children ”, it was reported.

In addition, during 11 months of 2020, there were 4,118 drunk driving accidents, as a result of which 97 people were killed and 1,425 people were injured.

“Due to drunk pedestrians 58 accidents were committed, as a result of which 14 people died and 32 were injured,” added the CPZ.

In addition, the Center drew attention to the conversations on the mobile phone while driving, which caused the accident.

“In Ukraine, there are no official statistics on accidents resulting from the use of mobile drivers. However, it is precisely the unwillingness to get away from the phone that can lead to a fatal accident. If the driver is distracted for at least 2 seconds to talking on your mobile phone or writing a message, even at a speed of 50 km / h, blindly drives 28 meters of road, during which fatal accidents can occur ”, concluded the CPC.

We will remember that earlier in the Zhytomyr region a car ran off the road and crashed into a tree, three were killed. The driver lost control. As a result, two young men died at the scene of an accident and the third died in intensive care.

It was also reported that in Kiev, a car ran over a man and killed him in a crosswalk. The young man did not have a chance to survive, as the car was driving very fast, at a speed of about 80 km / h.
