Due to the significant increase in the number of coronavirus patients, the city commission on TEB and emergency situations decided to introduce additional restrictions in Kiev for three weeks: from 00:00 on March 20 to 24:00 on April 9.
Kiev fell into the “red” zone
According to the indicators of the Ministry of Health on March 19, Kiev was in the “red” quarantine zone. The bans imposed by the local authorities actually correspond to the “red” level.
However, in addition, the State Fuel and Energy Safety and Emergency Commission may restrict the operation of public transportation. If such a decision is made, it will take effect no earlier than 48 hours after its publication.
What is prohibited as of March 20
- serve visitors in cafes, restaurants and other catering establishments;
- massive events: cultural, social, advertising, entertainment, etc .;
- the presence of spectators at sporting events;
- operation of shopping and entertainment centers, children’s entertainment centers and other entertainment establishments (discos, nightclubs);
- visit educational institutions (except kindergartens and schools from 1st to 4th grade);
- reception of visitors in cultural institutions (museums, cinemas, theaters, concert halls);
- functioning of non-food markets, incl. fairs, pavilions;
- visit swimming pools, except for professional sportsmen’s training sessions;
- group classes in fitness clubs, gyms;
- Visits from outsiders to the social security institutions where the elderly are found.
Transportation restrictions
As part of the strengthening of the quarantine, it is prohibited to transport passengers in public transport (fixed-route taxis, trams, trolleybuses) if the number of people in the cabin exceeds 50% of seats.
For the lockdown period, no changes to the Moscow metro schedule are planned. To avoid overcrowding at stations, entry restrictions may be imposed.
Rail transport will continue to pass through Kiev. The embarkation and disembarkation of passengers in stations will not be prohibited as of March 20.
What will work
During the closure in Kiev, the catering establishments will continue to operate only in the mode home and take away orders… At the same time, the operation of food zones in airports is allowed.
The hospitality establishments in the hotels will be open from 06:00 to 11:00, during the rest of the hours catering will be allowed in the room.

Gas stations will work, but without food zones. Banks and post offices from the closure will continue to function normally.
