The Cabinet of Ministers reacted to avoid the blockade of Vkontakte

The Minister of Culture and Information Policy gave the order to solve it by avoiding the blockade of the Russian social network.

The social network Vkontakte, blocked on the territory of Ukraine, reported that it had found an opportunity to avoid the blockade. In response, the Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Alexander Tkachenko, gave instructions to investigate. He affirmed this during a press conference on Monday, September 14.

Therefore, Tkachenko ordered to verify whether the information that Vkontakte has found a technical opportunity to bypass the blockade is true.

“The problem of penetration of disinformation emanating from Vkontakte or Russian TV channels is really significant. We met several times in the NSDC on this matter, there is an action plan, I hope it will be implemented. As for Vkontakte , I asked today, as soon as we learned about this information, to see if it is really realistic, and what can be done, what decision should be made to counter this story, “said Tkachenko.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Ministry of Infrastructure responded to Ukrinform’s journalistic request on this matter, noting that blocking social media, in particular Vkontakte, is not the responsibility of the ministry.

We will recall, on the eve of VKontakte announced that it had bypassed the blockade in Ukraine and that from now on there are no obstacles for Ukrainian users of the mobile application.
