The draft law of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine gives the right to obtain a plate not in service centers, but in private companies.
On October 9, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the draft law of the Interior Ministry on changing the procedure for manufacturing and issuing vehicle license plates, the Interior Ministry reported.
The bill grants the right to private companies (commercial entities) to produce license plates for vehicles. These entities may issue plates for unique trips.
According to the bill, when registering a vehicle at the service center of the Interior Ministry, Ukrainians will receive only a registration certificate and a number, at their discretion in a private company.
“Previously, when registering a vehicle, a person received a registration certificate and a plate. Now he will only receive a certificate and will order the plate in the place that has the right to produce it according to the state standard,” said the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sergei Goncharov.
Upon registration, the car owner will be able to log into the driver’s electronic account, find a toll-free number and reserve it.
Now, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of the Interior conducts a tender every year to order, manufacture and purchase license plates for automobiles. The ministry considered that this procedure was not economically profitable.
The bill should now have the support of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to the site gos-nomera.com.ua, the price of a set of standard numbers for vehicles ranges from 250 to 450 UAH. For custom and non-standard numbers, you will have to pay starting from 2400 UAH.
The ЗD numbers do not correspond to the established requirements of the state standards of Ukraine. Are subject to a fine 170 грн.
