Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s father, Alexander, was one of five candidates for a lifetime scholarship.
At a meeting on 2 September, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine withdrew from consideration the draft decree of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the award of a lifetime state scholarship to various education workers, including the father of the head of state, Alexander Zelensky, reports the GORDON correspondent.
According to the draft decree posted on the government website, it was proposed to award a lifetime scholarship to five educators who have reached their 70th birthday, including the Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Alexander Zelensky.
The proposal to withdraw the decree from the consideration of the Cabinet of Ministers was made by the Acting Minister of Education Sergey Shkarlet.
The size of a lifetime scholarship for outstanding educators is 1.5 times the subsistence minimum for disabled people (UAH 2568).
