The cabinet intends to increase funding for medicine
Next year, it is planned to increase doctors’ salaries by 30%, as well as provide funds for vaccines and payments for medical services.
Next year, the level of funding for medicine will reach 4.3% of the country’s GDP, and by 2023 this figure will gradually increase to 5%. This was announced by Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko in an interview with Ukrinform, which was published on Saturday, December 12.
Financing the medical sector was one of the top priorities in the 2021 budget, he said.
“The corresponding expenses of the consolidated budget will increase by 61 billion compared to this year. It is planned to increase the salaries of doctors by 30%, provide funds for vaccines, medicines and medical services,” said Marchenko.
He noted that under conditions of significant budget constraints, this is the maximum possible real resource for the industry.
Also, according to the head of the Ministry of Finance, until 2023, the level of financing for medicines will gradually increase to 5% of GDP. And next year this figure will reach 4.3%.
We recall, on November 26, that the Cabinet approved the state budget project for the second reading and presented it to the Rada. It is expected to be reviewed next week.
It was also reported that another five billion will be redirected to medicine. Money will be given to doctors to combat the coronavirus from the COVID Fund, reducing the cost of road works.
