The cabinet changes the criteria for the red zone
The region will be closed with strict quarantine if the incidence is more than five times higher than the average incidence in Ukraine.
The Cabinet has changed the criteria for entering the region in the red zone of adaptive quarantine. This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal on Wednesday, September 16.
“An important point is the issue of establishing a ‘red level’ in the region. That is, it is practically a blockade of the region. It will be considered if the incidence rate of COVID-19 is more than five times the national average”, Shmygal said.
Today in Ukraine, the incidence rate is 96.8 in 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants. The closest to the red zone is now the Ternopil region: 348.4 in 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants.
At the same time, the decision on the “red zone” of quarantine will be made jointly by the state and regional commissions of TEB and emergency situations in the event that more than 75% of the beds in hospitals are loaded for five consecutive days.
“This can be a one-time closure of all areas or a gradual limitation of certain areas leading to outbreaks in a particular region,” said the head of the Health Ministry, Maxim Stepanov.
We recall that previously the head of the Ministry of Health discussed the quarantine with the mayors of the cities. The conversation lasted two and a half hours, and its main goal was to eliminate “anything political,” Maxim Stepanov said.
