The lockdown in Ukraine, according to preliminary estimates, helped contain the COVID-19 epidemic, which is why there is now a plateau in the country. This was stated by the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov on the air of Ukraine 24 on Friday, January 22.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health will give a full assessment of the effectiveness of the strict quarantine next week, Nemchinov specified.
“There are preliminary conclusions. Doctors say that the introduction of restrictions in the New Year and Christmas period allowed them to curb the rapid increase in incidence. They observe a certain plateau. This is mainly because the majority of citizens adhered to quarantine, “he added. said the minister.
Remember that there are more than 5 thousand new cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine. The infection is most active in Kiev, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Lviv regions.
It was also reported that the Cabinet has prepared a concept for the production of COVID vaccines in Ukraine. The government emphasizes the need for its own production of immunobiological drugs.
