Shmygal listed a number of changes in the medical system
The government has simplified the importation of drugs for the treatment of coronavirus in Ukraine, has exempted some medical supplies from VAT and has regulated ambulance calls.
The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a series of decisions on changes to the medical system to simplify the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal wrote about this on Telegram on Wednesday, December 16.
“We made another decision aimed at simplifying the importation of drugs used to combat COVID-19 in Ukraine. This, in turn, will increase the access of hospitals to drugs and medical devices used in the fight against coronavirus disease,” Shmyhal said.
He added that the list of goods that are imported into Ukraine and are exempt from VAT has been expanded. First of all, we are talking about test systems and equipment for laboratory diagnostics.
“Strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian laboratories will increase the number of tests performed,” stressed the prime minister.
Finally, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced additional criteria for calling an ambulance according to the priority of medical care.
“Depending on the patient’s condition, the appeal to the ambulance will be divided into critical, urgent, non-urgent and non-basic. This will reduce the mortality rate, because a priority is set for patients with a critical condition. The standard of arrival of medical teams in this case should be 10 minutes from the moment the appeal is received. to the dispatcher “, – summed up Shmygal.
We will recall that previously Shmygal addressed the WHO about COVID vaccines. Ukraine expects a vaccine under the COVAX program in the first half of 2021, but would like to receive it faster.
The weekly rise of COVID-19 was also reported to be slowing down in Ukraine. In Ukraine, over the past week, the number of cases of coronavirus infection has decreased by 11%.
