According to the decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers, the so-called “orange” coronavirus quarantine zone operates in Ukraine from December 19 to February 28. However, five days later, on January 8, a lockdown will take effect, which will imply stricter restrictions.
Until February 28, except for the period from January 8 to January 24 inclusive, it is prohibited in Ukraine:
- holding massive events in educational institutions (performances, holidays, concerts) with the participation of children from more than one group / class and in the presence of visitors;
- holding festive events, banquets, master classes, public events in entertainment and catering establishments;
- reception of visitors in museums, exhibitions, galleries, if there is more than one person for every 10 m2. meters;
- catering work from 23:00 to 7:00 (except home delivery and take away). Settlement transactions end after 22:00;
- religious events: indoors, subject to the presence of more than one person per 5 m2. meters; outdoors, as long as a distance of 1.5 meters is not observed between those present;
- stay in public transport and public places without wearing a mask, as well as being on the street without identity documents;
- unauthorized departure from the place of isolation or observation;
- the celebration of massive cultural (including concerts), sports, social, advertising and other events in which more than 20 people participate and the distance of 1.5 m between the participants is not observed (exception: official and professional sporting events without spectators, examinations for notaries and necessary measures to ensure the work of the authorities);
- work of cinemas and cultural institutions with more than 50% of seats in a room;
- there are more passengers in passenger transport than the number of seats (except the subway);
- holding discos, nightclubs and catering establishments with the organization of public entertainment;
- accommodation in catering establishments for more than 4 adults at the table and when the distance between the tables is less than 2 meters;
- work of commercial entities in which the employees do not have masks, the marks are not applied according to the distance between clients of 1.5 meters and the visitors do not wear the personal protective equipment correctly;
- border crossing by foreigners without an insurance policy (with some exceptions);
- the activities of accommodation institutions (except hotels, rehabilitation centers for people with disabilities, sanatoriums and spas);
- visits to educational institutions by groups of more than 20 people, except preschool, general secondary, extracurricular and specialized education institutions;
- visiting educational institutions in the event that more than 50% of the students and staff of an educational institution are in self-isolation;
- carry out planned hospitalization measures (except for palliative care, obstetrics, newborns, obstetrics, treatment of cancer patients, highly specialized (tertiary) medical care and other emergency medical care);
- the work of gyms and fitness centers, if there is more than one person per 20 square meters;
- visiting points (places) of temporary detention of persons, temporary stay points for foreigners and stateless persons, as well as refugee accommodation points;
- crossing of the checkpoint in the territories temporarily occupied by CADLO and Crimea by foreigners without an insurance policy (with some exceptions);
- Visits by unauthorized persons to social security institutions in which certain categories of citizens are found (elderly people, war veterans, people with disabilities, mental disorders, etc.).
During the closure from January 8 to January 24, it is prohibited:
- visit educational institutions, except kindergarten;
- work in cafes, bars, restaurants (except work at home and take away);
- celebration of all massive events (entertainment, sporting, social, advertising and others);
- the work of the shopping and entertainment center (except the work in them of subjects defined as “allowed”);
- reception of visitors by cultural institutions and holding of massive cultural events;
- the work of commercial entities in the field of commerce and consumer services for the population (except those that are defined as “permitted”);
- functioning of non-food markets (food markets will be allowed with restrictions).

At the same time, during the strict quarantine restrictions in Ukraine, it is allowed:
- public, intercity and international transport works by road, air and rail;
- trade in food products;
- trade in drugs, medical products and veterinary drugs;
- trade in hygiene and animal feed products, media and communications;
- automobile maintenance and repair;
- operation of the gas station (without food area);
- the work of financial institutions (banks);
- work of postal operators;
- the work of the hotels (the restaurant areas will work in them from 06:00 to 11:00);
- Professional club sporting events without spectators.
We will recall, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that the January blockade in Ukraine will not be canceled, despite the decrease in the incidence of Covid-19.
