In Ukraine, it is theoretically possible to introduce a blockade throughout the country. This can happen if more than half of the country’s regions fall into the “red” quarantine zone.
“Theoretically, this is possible,” Razumkov said, answering a question about the likelihood of a total shutdown of Ukraine should 13 regions of Ukraine enter the “red” quarantine zone.
However, he said he did not want to “predict the future.”
“The future can be predicted, but it is better not to do this,” said the speaker of parliament.
We will recall, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov of Ukraine warned that the situation with the coronavirus in Ukraine will worsen until at least mid-April.
At the same time, the state’s chief medical officer, Viktor Lyashko, said on March 29 that he still excludes the introduction of a national lockdown in Ukraine. According to him, today the Ukrainian medical system is coping with the burden.
He explained that the winter lockdown was introduced in Ukraine to postpone the coronavirus wave, which was predicted in February.
Note that, prior to that, the Health Ministry noted that a nationwide lockdown will be introduced if more than 13 regions of the country are in the “red” quarantine zone. Today, there are 11 such regions. In the regions that are in the “red” zone, there are the most severe restrictions.
