In Ukraine, it is still possible to introduce a total lockdown to combat the spread of the coronavirus. However, as of today, there is no specific date to strengthen the quarantine.
This was stated by the press secretary of the president of Ukraine, Yulia Mendel, on her Instagram.
According to her, the thoughts of both officials and representatives of local authorities converge on the need to introduce a blockade in Ukraine, but the main condition is a sharp increase in the incidence of coronavirus.
“All possible scenarios are being studied, the forecasts, the possibilities of the medical system and the economy are being elaborated. The threat of a blockade depends on each one of us, in particular: how we adhere to security measures, whether we put others in danger, “Mendel added.
Let us remember that today a meeting was to be held in the Presidency of the Republic with the participation of representatives of the government and local self-government bodies. The meeting was organized to discuss the introduction of the blockade in Ukraine.
Later, some media outlets, citing their own sources, began to name possible dates for the introduction of the blockade. In particular, December 23 and 24 were named as possible introduction dates.
In addition, today the head of parliament, Dmitry Razumkov, said that he did not exclude the introduction of a blockade in Ukraine. He added that the Rada is also preparing for a possible increase in quarantine.
Let’s add that Health Minister Maxim Stepanov mentioned the main condition for the introduction of a blockade in Ukraine.
