According to legend, Alenka depicted on the monument is the founder of the town of Novaya Alyonovka, on the site of which the city of Novovoronezh later appeared. The monument was inaugurated on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the town.
The monument is two meters high and is made of metal structures with elements of artistic forging.

TASS reports that local authorities are already planning to consider demolishing the Alenka monument.
The corresponding decision should be made on December 21 by the initiative group involved in the creation and installation of the art object, Novovoronezh director Vladimir Leshchenko told the publication.
«To begin with, no budgetary funds were used to create this art object. The organization and installation of the monument was completely occupied by the initiative group. We have already informed you that after the inauguration of the monument a lot of negativity was spilled, so tomorrow the initiative group will meet and decide what to do about it. If the decision is made to demolish it, we will demolish the monument and voila, and put a commemorative plaque in its place, ”Leshchenko said.
According to him, a professional artist from Voronezh worked on creating the image.
