The suspect in the beating of a former Russian prisoner, Vladimir Balukh, was a Kiev resident, who, according to the investigation, beat the victim as a result of the conflict.
On Friday, September 18, the press service of the Metropolitan Police reports on this.
“During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers identified and questioned witnesses to this event, carried out a series of operational search and investigation actions. As a result, the police identified a suspect,” the statement said.
According to the police, on the eve of the incident, Balukh together with his friends celebrated the anniversary of his release from captivity at the Kazak restaurant.
“At approximately midnight, the former political prisoner left the institution and went to the Edem restaurant (that is, to the Eden restaurant – Ed.) “, – say law enforcement officers.
There he had a conflict with a local resident born in 1988, who later came to visit an acquaintance, a security guard from one of the restaurants.
“The man kicked him, the victim fell and lost consciousness. After that, the attacker fled without providing assistance to the victim. In the morning, Vladimir Balukh was hospitalized in hospital,” police added.
On Friday, the man was arrested and informed about his suspicion of having committed a crime under Part 1 of art. 121 (Intentional serious bodily injury) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In the near future, the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
Today’s noisy arrest was commented on by the Politica del País telegram channel.
“That is, usual everyday life. And apparently – under the influence of alcohol. Although earlier” European Solidarity “hinted at political overtones, claiming that Balukh had a conflict with the” Russian-speaking company “, – says the message.
Let us remind you that recently the co-chair of the Eurosolidarity faction, Irina Gerashchenko, said that on the night of the incident a Russian-speaking company was resting near Balukh, which angered the former political prisoner. In this context, a conflict arose that ended with the beating of Balukh.
Previously, “Strana” had a detailed understanding of the history of Balukh’s beating at the Kiev hydropark.
