Law enforcement officers in the United States are trying to find out who sent the poisoned letter to the White House for President Donald Trump and to determine if other similar envelopes were sent through the postal system.

The poisonous letter addressed to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, was allegedly sent from Canada. On September 19, the New York Times reported.

Federal investigators are now working to track who sent the letter and determine if other similar envelopes were sent through the postal system.

A package of ricin was intercepted this week by US law enforcement.

Ricin is part of the waste generated in the production of castor oil. It is a powerful, highly toxic plant poison. When ingested, it causes nausea, vomiting, and internal bleeding, followed by liver, spleen, and kidney failure and death from collapse of the circulatory system. Ricin has no known antidote.
