Ukraine’s youth team forward Daniil Sikan shared his thoughts on the chances of reaching Euro 2021, and also spoke about the opponent in the next match: the Danish team.
– Does the national team not lose hope of reaching the European Championship?
– We have a chance, even when we are in such a difficult situation. Once again, the team is eager to prove that the poor start to the qualifying tournament was a ridiculous accident. We will fight to the end, otherwise why go anywhere? (Smile).
– The next game will be against Denmark. What do you think of this team?
– The opponent is strong, the leader of our group. I did not play against the Danes in Lviv, but from what I saw in theory, the enemy tries to act through a pass, often using their leaders. Of course, it won’t be easy in Aalborg, but we will have our own game plan, and if the team manages to bring it to life, then victory will come.
– In other words, will any other result, except the victory, be considered negative for the Ukrainian team?
– To qualify for a ticket to the Euro, in the remaining six matches, we only need to win, otherwise the tournament fight for the high places may end for us.
Recall that Ukraine suffered three defeats in four games played, while Denmark had five victories in five games. In Euro 2021 the first places will come out, as well as the best among those who will take the second row of their groups.
