Automatic registration of traffic offenses started working in Kharkiv

The cameras will work on the streets where the highest number of speeding accidents with serious consequences have been recorded.

In Kharkiv, as part of a project to create a safe traffic system in the city, a system for the automatic registration of traffic offenses began to operate. This is indicated on Thursday, December 31 on the website of the Kharkiv City Council.

According to the city secretary, Igor Terekhov, currently only two such cameras have been installed in Kharkov. It is clarified that they have already been won on the Velozavodsky bridge and Nauki avenue.

According to Vladislav Vasenko, director of the Gorelektrotransservice company, the new cameras will go into normal operation within two weeks, and about nine more devices will be installed in Kharkov by the middle of next year.

It should be noted that the cameras record the number, color, type of vehicle and speed. Photos and videos of device violations are sent directly to the Home Office website for further identification and collection of fines.

“The distance to the cameras is 100 to 30 m. These cameras will provide information on speed limit violations, but as soon as the law allows fines for other types of violations, these cameras will be able to record them. For example, crossing a solid line , lane violations, trips on a red light, etc. “, – said Vasenko.

In total, under the Safe City project, it is planned to install more than a thousand cameras in Kharkov.
