The Armed Forces of Ukraine received a modernized MIG fighter

The Ukroboronprom company updated the MIG-29 fighter and delivered it for use in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant upgraded the MIG-29 fighter to the level of the MIG-29MU1 and delivered it to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of Ukroboronprom.

“On December 7, the plane arrived from Lviv to the location of the Air Force unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the message says.

Modernization of the aircraft made it possible to increase the target detection range and improve the accuracy of the aircraft’s departure at a given point.

The MIG-29MU1 fighter has a speed of up to 2.5 thousand km / h, which is provided by two turbojet engines with afterburning.

The aircraft’s armament consists of a 30mm autocannon, air-to-air missiles, as well as bombs and unguided rockets to destroy ground targets.

The fighter is equipped with an electronic warfare system, which is designed to individually protect the aircraft from attacks by enemy aircraft and anti-aircraft missile systems.

Previously, the NPK Iskra company delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine a new radar station with an increased range, improved trajectory processing parameters and expanded functionality.

We will remember, the new head of Ukroboronprom Yuriy Gusev said that in 2021 the state concern will cease to exist. It will be transformed into two holding companies.
