The European Union, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom have lifted the ban on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which was suspended after two plane crashes in 2018 and 2019, in which nearly 350 people died.
According to Reuters, the British EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is confident in the safety of the aircraft. Previously, experts identified a malfunction of the computer system.
According to EASA CEO Patrick Kai, an independent review was carried out, from the cockpit software to maintenance and pilot training.
“We will continue to closely monitor the 737 MAX when the aircraft resumes service,” he added.
At the same time, the UK operation was resumed. As reported on the website of the country’s National Civil Aviation Administration, the decision was made in relation to the improvement of the technical characteristics of the aircraft and changes to the pilot training program.
“CAA announced today that it will allow British airlines to operate passenger flights on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, subject to close supervision,” the department said.
Similar decisions were made in the United States and Canada.
