The Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Drozdov, announced his intention to adopt American F-15 and F-35 fighters, according to the Ukrainian military portal.

According to him, in the first stage of rearmament, the Air Force plans to receive a new multi-role aircraft of the 4 ++ generation. After that, the fifth generation can be adopted.

“In the first stage, aircraft of the types Gripen and F-15 are being considered. In the future, with the deepening of relations with partners, the transition to a modern fifth-generation F-35 aircraft,” said Drozdov. .

He also noted that within ten years, the Air Force will be forced to withdraw from the composition of the main models of military equipment that are currently in service.

As reported, Ukraine is preparing an order for An-74 aircraft. The delivery date of the first aircraft is 2023. A total of four aircraft have been ordered.
