The coin with a face value of 25 kopecks is withdrawn from circulation as of October 1.
The National Bank is withdrawing the 25 kopeck coin from circulation. As of October 1, the currency of this denomination is no longer legal tender.
NBU Deputy Director Alexei Shaban said this at a briefing, reports the RBC-Ukraine correspondent.
According to him, the coins can be deposited in banks within three years.
As a reminder, as of October 1, 2019, the National Bank began gradually withdrawing 25 kopeck coins from circulation.
Note that the National Bank of Ukraine plans to gradually completely replace paper notes from 1 to 10 UAH with coins.
At the same time, the National Bank does not plan to withdraw the 1, 2, 5 and 10 hryvnia banknotes from circulation. As they wear out, they will be replaced in parallel by coins of those denominations that will be put into circulation.
According to the NBU, after the process of withdrawal of small coins and the introduction of a new 1000 UAH banknote in circulation, the nominal number of hryvnia will decrease from 17 to 12 denominations. From this row, six will be bills, six coins.
