Despite the exit from the Europa League “Kolos” and “Desna”, Leonid Buriak found positive in the performance of Ukrainian clubs in European competitions this week.
– Leonid Iosifovich, how would you rate Kolos’s play in the Europa League game against Rijeka?
– We played well, we did well. Everything made me happy, except the result. But all this is experience. If a team plays and takes positions that allow it to play in the Europa League, that says something. Next year, if Kolos enters the European competition, these big bumps will only help them and they already have experience. In European competitions, football is different from what you have to get used to. In principle, both the first match with “Aris” and the second with “Rijeka” were played with dignity.
– What do you think of the moment that Evgeny Seleznev did not take advantage of?
– Of course, this is the key point. But Kolos played away with a pretty good team. Maybe everything would be different. But I wouldn’t blame anyone for a hundred percent unrealized moment. Seleznyov apologized for that episode. But this is football.
– If it was a penalty shootout, can Kolos be considered to have had more chances than Rijeka, given that Evgeniy Volynets is a specialist in penalty deflections?
– Now I wouldn’t guess that way. They took off, so let’s put an end to this. Because you can guess anything: who would collect a penalty, who would not, who would play like in the doorway. But for the first time, they got it right.
– And how would you rate Desna’s play in the game with Wolfsburg?
– “Desna” was a bit more difficult than “Kolos”. Chernihiv played two different halves. In the first half, Desna had no chance. Wolfsburg is an organized German team. The Germans pushed a lot, and when they push you, you must have skill and preparation for such situations. In the second half, Desna played better. So let’s put Kolos and Desna’s performances in the Europa League on the positive side. Of course, without taking into account the results.
– Do you think the elimination of Tamm influenced the result? Could Desna catch up on matching comps?
– Perhaps. But “Wolfsburg” might add. After all, there are teams that play in a row. If you do not watch the game, abstract yourself and look at the final score 2: 0, we can say that this is a pretty good result, which does not give rise to doubts. But then again, I’ll say that Desna played two different halves.
– Did Filippov and Favorov influence Desna in Desna’s game?
– I think so. When the leaders leave, the players who are of some value to the team, always sit down. It takes time for Seleznyov or some other footballer figuratively to occupy this niche and correspond to the level.
– What can you say about the Dynamo in the Champions League clash with Gent?
– The Dynamo were the favorite of this duel and they are after the match in Belgium. In the first game, the Kievans achieved quite a convincing result, having won on the road with a score of 1: 2. But there is a second game. The Gent manager says you can play against the Dynamo and his team will prove it. Now, the Kiev coaching staff needs to build tactics in such a way that it achieves a result and enters the main draw of the Champions League. But as the president of the Kiev club, the Dynamo, of course said, they need to improve their game. With “Gent” the Kiev fans had a better second half. However, the Dynamo have artists who must play a little better and make a good image for the fans.
– Do you think the Ukrainian legionaries in Ghent influenced the course of the first meeting?
– They are writing now that the Ukrainians are to blame for the defeat of Ghent. I would not say that. Yaremchuk was injured, Bezus received two yellow cards. But indeed, such an experienced footballer, a player from the national team, within three minutes to receive two cards and leave the field, of course, is an insult.
– Lucescu at the head of the Dynamo showed his best face?
– It was shown a long time ago. But now there are problems at Dynamo, but there is also a result. But, you know, that the Kiev team win the Champions League with the same bad game. No questions.

– But this is what the president of the Dynamo talks about. The Kievans need to improve the game process. But again, let it go like this and the Dynamo win the Champions League.
