French President Emmanuel Macron called for a review of the current rules for the functioning of the Schengen area in the direction of strengthening the protection of the EU’s external borders. In his opinion, this requires creating a real security police.

Reports from Le Figaro.

He is convinced of the need for Europe to strengthen its reaction and said that France is doing so “by doubling its existing forces.”

In addition to the attack in Nice, several other attacks in France were prevented, particularly in Avignon, Lyon, and the Paris suburbs. The country has declared the maximum level of terrorist threat and the security of schools and churches will be strengthened.
