The issue of moving the venue for the face-to-face meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group from Minsk must be resolved jointly by all parties. Now it is not necessary to postpone the negotiations, since they are carried out in videoconference mode.
This was announced by the head of the delegation of Ukraine to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk on the air of the television channel Ukraine 24.
According to him, the leading role in the issue of the transfer of the negotiating platform corresponds to the moderator, which is the OSCE. Neither Ukraine nor Russia can make such a decision independently. He added that now the OSCE does not see an opportunity in face-to-face meetings.
“Russia proposed a physical meeting in Minsk, but Ms. (Heidi – ed.) Grau made a corresponding presentation, in which she noted that due to certain conditions, in particular the coronavirus, there is no possibility. We accept this position and we we adhere to it “. – said Kravchuk.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation stressed that at this time Ukraine is not raising the issue of transferring the physical meetings of the Minsk TCG in the talks.
“We are talking about a videoconference, but for her it doesn’t matter where it takes place,” he said.
We will recall, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is too early to talk about the postponement of the Minsk TCG meetings.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz proposed Vienna as a new platform for negotiations on the Donbass.
