The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the trilateral contact group on Donbass, Leonid Kravchuk, announced the creation of a council with the participation of people from the region. He spoke about this initiative on the air of channel Ukraine 24.
“There are people who were not born in Donbass, but worked there all their lives. They held very important organizational, political, economic positions there. I mean, they are very well known there, and they know Donbass well. I mean again, we are thinking about how to create a council of people. Not to bring a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, but to gather a council of people who will help gather opportunities, opinions and suggestions, “added Krachuk.
The main criteria for selecting candidates, according to Kravchuk, are political position and experience, so “this is not a person who improvises.”
The Council will develop proposals for the contact group.
We will recall, last week, that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the exclusion of Fokin from the TCG due to his statements about the situation in Donbass. In particular, the former first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation said that he does not see any confirmation of the war between Ukraine and Russia.
