In an interview with the editor-in-chief of the publication “GORDON”, Ales Batsman, the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman said that the message about the alleged receipt of a bribe by the former deputy, businessman Maxim Mikitas, it’s a lie. The director of the National Anti-Corruption Office, Artem Sytnik, said that “it is not very good” that the NABU makes public the accusations against the former prime minister.
The director of the National Anti-Corruption Office, Artem Sytnik, said in an interview with ZN.UA that the leak of production materials, in which former Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman may appear, did not come from the office.
“The NABU’s information policy is that we make statements based solely on established facts. A fully established fact is the case of the National Guard departments. In some other episodes it is being investigated,” he said.
On December 4, journalist Vladislav Sidorenko published a copy of the first page of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court ruling, which states that, according to the investigation, in 2017 Mikitas proposed, and then Prime Minister Groisman agreed to accept through intermediaries a bribery in the form of property rights over non-residential premises in a residential complex. “Aristocrat” in Kiev costs more $ 2 million (more than UAH 52 million as of 2017). The research claims that the real value of the property is at least $ 6 million (156 million UAH), and the amount of the bribe exceeds 75 million UAH.
Former head of government Vasily Ryabchuk’s press secretary said Groisman had nothing to do with any act of corruption, and the information about it was an outright lie. He called the emergence of such information “the beginning of a dirty political campaign.”
According to Sytnik, the leak occurred when searches were carried out as part of the investigation.
“Naturally, the people and organizations that were searched became familiar with the documents. Therefore, the information was made public. Which is not very good for us,” added the NABU director.
He clarified that the examination of the appraisal of the premises, which Groisman allegedly received at a reduced price, has not yet concluded.
“Therefore, I cannot comment on this case either positively or negatively. As soon as there is one hundred percent proof of this or that version, we will comment on everything,” Sytnik stressed.
Groisman, in an interview with the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “GORDON”, Ales Batsman, said that the information that he was allegedly receiving a bribe was a lie.
“The press service reacted quite clearly: this is nonsense. I have nothing to add. And being the bearer of this, so that I myself say more and more that this is not true, it seems to me that … there are authorities competent, they will solve it and say that there is a problem or not. I know for sure that I am not guilty of anything: not to people, not to anyone. Why do you say this, what prompted you to do this? ? The question is not for me, I know little about this person and I cannot say why he is biased in this regard, “he said.
Groisman was the Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2016–2019 years.
Mikitas before being elected people’s deputy from 2010 to 2016 headed the state corporation “Ukrbud”.
Ukrbud Development LLC was registered in 2004, it is privately owned, YouControl reports. According to “Economic Truth”, the company belonged to Mikitas, now on the site Oleg Mayboroda is the director of YouControl.
On October 2, 2019, detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine announced to Mikitas about suspicions in the case of taking possession of a property in Kiev, which belonged to the National Guard. According to the investigation, the National Guard and the promoter company reached an agreement on the construction of a residential complex on the territory of a former military unit in Kiev. For this, the National Guard was going to receive 50 apartments and 30 parking lots there. However, in 2016-2017, the parties entered into additional agreements, according to which the National Guard refused to receive apartments and parking spaces in Pechersk in exchange for 65 apartments in a house on the outskirts of the city. The investigation believes that the amount of damage caused to the state as a result of this is 81.6 million UAH.
Mikitashu is in charge of part 3 of art. 27, part 5 of art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (complicity in misappropriation, squandering of property or taking possession due to abuse of power). In total, eight people are involved in the case.
On December 1, 2020, the former people’s deputy and the state expert, who, according to the investigation, ensured the issuance of an opinion on the minimum difference between the cost of apartments in Pechersk and on the outskirts of the city, were informed of a suspected bribery. The expert was arrested with the possibility of posting one million UAH in bail.
As the prosecutor said at the meeting, Oleg Tatarov, deputy head of the President’s Office, could negotiate a bribe. According to the editor-in-chief of “Censor.NET” Yuri Butusov, it was Mikitas who testified against Tatarov.
On December 2, NABU reported that Mykytas reimbursed the state 50 million UAH for damages, The media said that he was released.
On December 3, it was learned that Mikitas was released from the remand center under house arrest. Due to the fact that he made a deal with the investigation, he partially admitted his guilt and agreed to compensate the State for the damage.
