Svitolina in a three-set thriller beat Russia’s first racket

Ukraine’s first racket Elina Svitolina (No. 5 WTA) continues to win the WTA 500 in Abu Dhabi.

The 26-year-old Ukrainian, second seeded of the tournament, defeated Russia’s first racket Ekaterina Aleksandrova (No. 33 WTA) in the third round match.

In the next round, Svitolina will fight Veronika Kudermetova of Russia (No. 46 WTA).

Note that Elina won 18 of the last 20 matches against tennis players from Russia. He currently has a streak of seven such wins in a row.
