The main indicator for the introduction of strict quarantine before January 8 may be the incidence of 32-35 thousand new cases per day.
“Now we are talking about a figure of 32 to 35 thousand patients per day. But we need to understand how many beds from the COVID package were introduced, how many beds received oxygen, and how many hospitals participated in overcoming the coronavirus infection,” Nemchinov said.
He also stressed that when evaluating the situation, the occupation of beds for patients with COVID-19 will be taken into account.
“In addition to those identified, there is also the issue of hospitalized. We are constantly increasing the number of beds. The Ministry of Health is working to bring it up to 90 thousand, if necessary. The number of beds with oxygen is constantly increasing. year, the task is to reach more than 40 thousand, and in the future, 75 thousand “, said the minister.
This week, the Cabinet of Ministers announced the tightening of the quarantine from January 8 to 24. During this period, the full operation of cafes and restaurants, shopping malls, theaters, cinemas and other entertainment facilities will be prohibited.
Also on Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine until late winter. Until now, every day, except the strict quarantine period, the “orange zone” restrictions will be in force in Ukraine.
