Yesterday, May 12, starting at 10:00 p.m., the sky over Kiev shone with hundreds of rays of light. Many kievans do not know what happened. It turned out that this is the work of cultural workers. They highlighted heaven, trying to draw attention to the problems that arose in the creative industry due to quarantine.
The action was called # stopculture quarantine.
– When the governments of other countries save their economies by supporting individuals and companies, planning quarantine exits in stages and predicting possible scenarios for industries, the Ukrainian government is still developing crisis management programs. At the same time, the sphere of the creative and entertainment industries is forgotten. It seems that we do not exist, the organizers of the action complained.
For what
The activists tried to attract the attention of the authorities and society to various sectors of culture, art, entertainment and the organization of massive events. Since this area during the quarantine period suffered no less than others.
Organizers argue that despite huge financial losses, the state actually ignores the culture.
Therefore, the creative industry workers decided that if they are not listened to, they should be seen. This is what became the main motto of the action.
The sky was illuminated by beam rays that could be seen from different parts of the area. In total, 12 sites participated, including the People’s Friendship Arch and VDNG.
