According to the protesters, “the silence and inaction of the president keep people behind bars.”
The protesters also lit flares and announced a new action at 12 Hospitalnaya Street in Kiev, where the Congress of Judges of Ukraine will be held.
In total, the action lasted about an hour, then its participants began to disperse.
Recall that the journalist Sheremet was assassinated on July 20, 2016 in the center of Kiev. The car he was in was blown up with a remote-controlled explosive device. On December 12, 2019, the police named and detained the suspects of organizing the murder, including Andrei Antonenko.
Odessan Sergei Sternenko was sentenced to 7 years in prison with the confiscation of half of his assets. The court found him guilty of kidnapping in 2015.
Also in Odessa, a trial was initiated in the case of exceeding Sternenko’s necessary self-defense measures.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, a demonstration in support of Sergei Sternenko was held in central Kiev.
