Ukraine is not negotiating acquisition of vaccines of the coronavirus in Russia, because “it does not exist”.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, on the air of Ukraine 24.
“About the Russian vaccine: I have said more than once that there is no Russian vaccine today. When they say that a vaccine has been registered that has not passed the third stage, there is nothing to talk about. The third stage is the most large, during which the vaccine is tested, is number from the point of view of its safety, “he said.
Stepanov added that Ukraine is negotiating with manufacturers such as Pfizer and Moderna.
“I constantly meet with our ambassadors, we raised the issue of vaccination, including the purchase of vaccines from American companies and we were in the third stage of clinical trials, mainly Pfizer and Moderna, with whom we are negotiating,” said the minister.
As reported, the first license was received to launch its coronavirus vaccine American Pfizer and the German company BioNTech. Its BNT162 vaccine has already undergone efficacy studies showing that it protects 95% against COVID-19.
