The increased risk of infection remains due to crowding of people during the holidays, he said.
“We expect an increase in the number of people who are sick from the things that are associated with the New Year celebration. The opening of the “Christmas trees”, how many people follow the established rules, all this will lead to an increase in the number of sick people in the near future. We are talking about fairs, events that are related to the New Year. year “, – said the minister.
On December 9, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine extended the national quarantine until February 28, 2021. The new quarantine restrictions are in effect as of December 19. From January 8 to 00:00 on January 25, the country will have a “winter holiday quarantine.” Catering establishments were able to work on New Year’s Eve from 1:00 to 7:00 on January 1.
As of December 24, more than 1 million cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine, of which 11,490 occurred in the last 24 hours. Since the start of the epidemic, 17,395 patients with COVID-19 have died in the country and 631,435 people have recovered.
