The work of Ukraine’s medical system with COVID-19 patients does not depend on the daily increase in patients, but on the number of hospitalized, said the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov.
Serious problems may arise in Ukraine’s health care system with a daily increase of 30 thousand infected with coronavirus. This was announced on November 20 on the air of the Inter TV channel by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov.
“If there is a threat of a complete blockade of the medical system (that is, the medical system), we will insist on the need to introduce stricter measures … If we start from the current percentage of seriously ill patients who end up in hospital, then I think that is about 30 thousand patients a day in a given period – then it can cause “, – he said.
According to the minister, now in Ukraine, in hospitals for those infected with coronavirus, 27,902 beds are occupied, and it can reach 75-80 thousand.
As of November 20, according to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the hospitals of the first wave of COVID-19 have a total of 53,335 beds.
More than 598 thousand cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine, from them a record 14,575 – for the last day. During the epidemic, 10,589 patients with COVID-19 died in the country, 274 thousand people were recovered.
