Stepanov explained the delay in payments to doctors.
The minister stressed that he had already responded to the situation: he sent letters to the heads of regional state administrations to inform each medical institution.
The Health Ministry receives complaints from doctors who work with coronavirus patients but do not receive up to 300 percent salary, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said in a briefing on May 2.
He noted that the government transferred all funds to the regions and that there are already delays on the ground.
“Now we are getting signals that these payments were not made entirely because of the local authorities or the top doctors in the hospitals. We started to manipulate the payment to … somehow calculate by the hour or somehow. These These are unacceptable things. I emphasize that, without exception, payments must be made in full, “he said.
The minister emphasized that he had already responded to the situation: he sent letters to the heads of regional state administrations to inform each medical institution what amounts were paid to employees who treated patients with COVID-19.
The day before in Kiev, doctors at one of the hospitals went on strike due to the lack of promised additional payments for wages.
Stepanov also discussed plans to raise the salaries of all doctors, and not just those who work with coronavirus patients.
