In Ukraine, during the last day, coronavirus was diagnosed in 5038 people, so on the morning of January 2, the total number of infections reached 1 069 517. According to this indicator, our country is ranked 17 in the world.
COVID-19 killed more 51 Ukrainian (already 18 731), while they managed to overcome it 2606 sick (total recovered 722 615). The updated data was provided by the Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov on his Facebook page as well as on the NSDC website.
Among the new patients, 182 children and 131 health workers.

Recall that the official statistics of the Ministry of Health do not indicate information on the incidence of the coronavirus among residents of the temporarily occupied regions of Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea.
According to the head of the Ministry of Health, during the past day, 17,930 tests were carried out for COVID-19, in particular, by PCR – 14,975, ELISA – 2955. In total, 5,597,641 tests have been carried out in Ukraine since the beginning of the pandemic.
