Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmitry Razumkov says there have been no proposals from the president or the government so far to declare a state of emergency in Ukraine due to the situation with COVID-19.

Responding to the question about the possibility of introducing a curfew in Kiev or the Ukraine regions, and if the possibility of introducing a state of emergency due to quarantine restrictions is being discussed, the speaker noted that the relevant proposals should come from of the government.
“Returning to the issue of the state of emergency. If there are proposals … In this case, they should not even be from the NSDC, if I am not mistaken, according to the law, from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, because this is an epidemic situation After that, they are considered by the president., The president issues a decree. And within two days, as practice shows, this happens faster, the parliament must meet and vote on this decree within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada. ” Razumkov explained.
At the same time, he noted: “Based on the current situation, so far no relevant information has been received from either the President of Ukraine or the Cabinet of Ministers.”
