Slovenian government announces end of coronavirus epidemic
The country’s government was the first in Europe to officially announce the end of the coronavirus epidemic and weakened quarantine.
The Slovenian government has officially announced the end of the coronavirus epidemic. This was reported on May 15 by Reuters.
It is noted that the decision was made after authorities registered fewer than seven new infections each day in the past two weeks.
Now, those who arrive in Slovenia from other EU countries will no longer be quarantined, as happened in early April.
According to Prime Minister Janez Jansha, Slovenia has “tamed” the epidemic in the past two months.
“Today in Slovenia, the best epidemiological image in Europe,” he stressed.
According to the latest data, 1,464 coronavirus cases and 103 deaths have been confirmed in the country.
The end of the epidemic will imply the cessation of certain measures, including financial assistance to citizens and companies affected by COVID-19.
At the same time, foreign citizens with signs of coronavirus infection are still prohibited from entering the country, and the 14-day quarantine will continue to be valid for people from countries outside the EU.
Slovenian residents will still have to follow the basic rules to prevent the spread of infection: wear masks, keep your distance and hygiene.
