Alexander Lukashenko responded to statements by French President Emmanuel Macron about the situation in Belarus, BelTA reports.

Correspondents asked the press secretary about Lukashenko’s reaction to recent remarks by French President Emmanuel Macron, made by him in an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche. Macron said the Belarusian authorities cannot accept «logic of democracy “, impressed «the courage of the protesters “and concluded that «Alexander Lukashenko must resign ”.

To which Lukashenka reacted:

“As president of the country, based on the principles of Mr. Macron himself (established in his declaration-call to resign) I mean that the president of France himself, following his own logic, should have resigned two years ago, when the “yellow vests” just began to appear on the streets of Paris. Years go by, the “vests” are still on the streets, Mr. Macron, surprisingly, is also still in office, and France has become a country where mass protests have become commonplace … “.

In addition, he recalled the problems in France with the BLM movement and the Muslim protests in Marseille and Lyon. In this sense, Lukashenka proposed Minsk as a universal platform for the peaceful transfer of power to any of the mentioned groups.

“As a seasoned politician, for an immature one, I would like to advise Mr. Macron to look less and instead eventually deal with the internal affairs of France. At least start to fix the problems that have accumulated a lot in the country, ”Lukashenka said.

In addition, he spoke unequivocally about the leader of the opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.

“As a person, I want to point out that, as it seems to us here in Belarus, Emmanuel Macron pays too much attention to one of the former presidential candidates in Belarus. Taking into account the fact that this former candidate is a lady, the French leader runs the risk of having personal problems also in France, at home, ”Lukashenka summarized.

It should be recalled that the massive protests against the Lukashenka regime, which began due to the falsification of the results of the presidential elections, have been taking place in Belarus for more than a month.

During this time, the security forces have already detained thousands of opponents. Furthermore, during the violent crackdown on protests, many protesters were injured and several died.

Despite this, on September 23 Lukashenko decided to carry out the so-called «inauguration “, which took place in secret and without the participation of leaders of other countries.
