In Odessa, at the “Ararat” restaurant, located in the tourist area, two people received gunshot wounds tonight. As the press service of the Security Council of Ukraine in the Odessa region told reporters, secret service officers detained intruders who had organized a shooting at the restaurant.
As noted by the department, operatives from the SBU’s special “K” unit in the Odessa region responded quickly to the incident that occurred at one of the restaurants.
“People from the Caucasus region started shooting with guns. Two of them were injured. The bullets even hit the windows of the house across the street. According to operational information, the participants in the shooting belong to one of the organized criminal groups in the region, “said the press service.
As specified in the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region, there was a shooting between two men, whose identities are now being established.
“Having seriously violated public order, the criminals attempted to escape from the scene, but were stopped by SBU officers,” the department said.
As a result of the armed conflict, both participants received gunshot wounds of varying severity. The men received medical assistance and nothing threatens their lives.
Now a police investigation task force and GUNP leadership are working on the ground. The circumstances of the incident are established. Regarding the fact of vandalism with the use of weapons, a criminal process has been initiated under Part 4 of art. 296 (vandalism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to eyewitnesses reported on social media, the conflict with the shooting occurred at the Ararat restaurant located on the Gagarin plateau (Arcadia spa).
