The protests in Minsk have not stopped since August
Before the arrests, riot police fired several warning shots into the air as protesters approached them.
In Minsk, security forces began harsh arrests of protest procession participants on November 1. According to a TASS correspondent at the scene, at least two dozen people were detained. The Minsk police confirmed the fact of the arrests.
Prior to the arrests, riot police fired several warning shots into the air as protesters approached them on Independence Avenue.
According to Interfax, about 20 security agents camouflaged with weapons blocked the avenue’s road in the direction of a column of about 5,000 protesters. When people began to dodge security forces on the sidewalks, they fired several warning shots into the air.
The column of protesters crossed the barrier of about 300 security agents and continued advancing along the avenue.
Earlier it was reported that for the first time since the start of the protests, a convoy of several armored all-terrain vehicles with heavy machine guns on the roof was noticed in Minsk.
