The Chief of Cabinet assured the IMF representatives that Kiev will fulfill its obligations.

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said Ukraine will continue to meet its obligations to the International Monetary Fund, despite the economic situation. He said this on Monday, December 21, in an online meeting with the head of the IMF mission in Ukraine, Ivanna Vladkov-Gollar, according to the government website.

According to him, Ukraine is moving towards the continuation of all reforms and will not deviate from this path.

“Despite the difficult economic situation, we will continue to adhere to the principles and obligations that we have reached with our international financial partners, in particular with the IMF,” Shmygal said.

He also noted that Ukraine has adopted a budget that will ensure macroeconomic stability.

By the way, the NBU today called the 2021 budget too optimistic and suggested that next year it will have to be adjusted.

Let us remind you that the IMF mission begins to work in Ukraine. IMF representatives will conduct remote negotiations with the Ukrainian authorities for three days this week and continue into the new year.
