The Ukrainian economy has started to recover, people are returning to work, which allows to increase the average salary in the near future, said the head of government.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that the Ukrainian economy began to recover and in June the average real wage exceeded the pre-crisis level and amounted to 11.6 thousand hryvnia. The prime minister wrote about this on Saturday August 29 on his Facebook page.

“We expect that already in 2022 average wages in the country will be at the level of 15,000 UAH,” the prime minister wrote on his page.

He also highlighted that the industry in July continued to show growth of + 1.4% compared to this June.

“Due to the peak of the corona economic crisis in March and April, industrial production is still showing a year-on-year decline. However, the last 3 months of recovery give hope that we have started a steady upward trend,” Shmygal wrote.

In addition, according to Shmygal, the loan programs for Ukrainian farmers and small businesses continue to gain momentum.

“More than 5 billion available loans have already been issued under the” 5-7-9% “program and more than 300 million hryvnia have been compensated to our farmers so that they can also get a cheap resource to develop their own business, “he said.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law to increase the minimum wage to 5000 UAH from September 1, 2020.
