Progress in reforms is critical to Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, said Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal.
Ukraine would like to become a member of the European Union in 5-10 years, but this depends not only on Kiev, but also on 27 other EU member states. According to him, there are two reasons why Ukraine is not yet in the EU.

He noted that progress on reforms is crucial for Ukraine’s accession to the EU. In particular, in the fight against corruption or in justice, European standards must be met.
Shmygal told Handelsblatt that Kiev is also negotiating with Brussels an Agreement on a Common Aviation Space and Common Energy Market Standards.
