Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal discussed the purchase of the COVID-19 vaccine with the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the European Union. This was reported by the government press service on Tuesday, December 22.

Shmyhal said that Ukraine, together with the World Bank and the European Investment Bank, is processing the possibility of purchasing COVID-19 vaccines.

According to him, relevant work is being carried out at the level of the embassies of the United States, Great Britain, Germany, and vaccine manufacturers.

“Ukraine needs access to the vaccine early next year so that we can start the process of vaccinating doctors and other population groups at risk as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate the efforts of our international partners to help Ukraine provide for the population the right amount of vaccine. ” – said the prime minister.

Earlier in Poland, they promised that they would transfer surplus coronavirus vaccines to Ukraine, if any. This was stated by the head of the Polish Prime Minister’s office, Michal Dvorczyk.

And last week, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the COVID vaccine should be received in January. Ukraine is not yet included in the list of 92 countries that will receive the vaccine as a priority, the head of state admitted.
