Shmyhal announced privatization by 2021
Privatization will cover the energy, chemical and machinery industries, the prime minister said.
In Ukraine, there is great potential for the privatization of state-owned companies in the energy, chemical and machinery industries. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said this in an interview with the Turkish news agency DHA on Tuesday, December 1.
“The main privatization of state-owned companies is scheduled for next year. It will cover the energy, chemical and machinery industries. We also see great potential for Turkish companies in infrastructure projects, seaports and telecommunications,” Shmygal said.
According to him, favorable conditions for investors will be created. Speaking of the signing of the Free Trade Agreement with Turkey, he stressed the importance of taking into account reservations by business representatives.
“It is very important to create a balance and take into account the warnings of representatives of the business world. The biggest reservation of Ukrainian producers is the application of additional protective measures by Turkey to restrict imports,” the prime minister explained.
Finally, he added that the agreement will not come into effect immediately after signing, as it will take some time to complete the legal paperwork, but sooner or later it will.
Let us remember that small privatizations have brought in 3 billion since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Economy expects that next year there will be a significant increase in this indicator and the beginning of large privatizations.
It was also reported that ZTMK was included in the list of privatizations. Such a solution will allow the company to restore the operation of the company, unblock accounts and bring the plant to the balance zone.
