Ukraine will not introduce a total quarantine (lockdown) due to the massive spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
On Friday, November 6, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said this from the Verkhovna Rada rostrum. The head of government pointed out that the adaptive quarantine will operate in our country, but it is possible to tighten the precautionary measures.
“I want to re-emphasize. The government is not currently considering the introduction of full quarantine. In fact, the Ministry of Health is considering the introduction of additional restrictions for a certain period to break the chain of diseases. This will not be a complete and permanent ban. For example, we are talking about increasing the responsibility of not wearing masks.“, – He explained.
The official also said that the issue of the “weekend quarantine” is being discussed at the level of different working groups, and if the government reaches such a decision, the Ministry of Health will report separately on the matter.
