The rise in gas prices in Ukraine is due to the fact that the country has just switched to open markets, but the government intends to solve this problem in eight steps.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in the broadcast of Freedom of Speech on ICTV. As he highlighted, now there are no gas tariffs, there is a price that is formed in the markets (scroll to the bottom to see the video).
The government must take a series of measures to improve the work of the sphere. So until now, the price of gas changes every month, which is inconvenient for people, said the chief of staff.
Eight government steps to solve the problem:
-
The ceiling price for gas from February 1 to the end of the heating season is not more than 6.99 UAH / m3.
-
Heating and hot water rates will not change until the end of the heating season.
-
Tariff limitation for gas distribution – up to 1.79 UAH.
-
But the government, together with the people’s deputies, initiated a bill on the possibility of transferring gas distribution networks to local governments.
-
No gas and heat penalties / penalties will apply for January.
-
The results of the investigation of the Antitrust Committee are awaited.
-
The Cabinet of Ministers will decide on compensation for homes with electric heating.
-
The main product of the gas distribution companies will be the annual predetermined product. In other words, the price of gas will be set once a year.
