Shmygal named all the reasons for the decrease in the incidence of COVID-19

A decrease in the incidence of coronavirus is observed in Ukraine. In particular, this can be seen in the number of people hospitalized.

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal highlighted that during the past week, the coronavirus was detected in fewer citizens than the previous year. He explained what could be the reason for the decrease in incidence, according to the press service of the Presidency.

During the past week, that is, in the period from November 30 to December 6, 89 322 patients with coronavirus were registered in Ukraine. But the week before the previous one, 96,936 were found infected.

7.6 thousand fewer people fell ill. At the same time, the number of tests remains almost unchanged and fluctuates between 280-290 thousand weekly tests,
– Shmygal said.

The Prime Minister believes that these indicators were influenced not only by the weekend quarantine, but also by the tightening of fines for remaining without masks in public places and transport.

Coronavirus in Ukraine: what is worth knowing

  • Ukraine has recorded the first decrease in the incidence of the coronavirus in Ukraine since the beginning of August.
  • The head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, says that 279 thousand tests were carried out in Ukraine last week. This is the same as the week before the previous one.
  • In addition, during this period, 10 thousand patients were hospitalized and in the previous week – 11 606 thousand. That is, 1.5 thousand less.
  • Since the beginning of the pandemic, 821,947 COVID-19 patients have been detected in Ukraine. Of these, 423,704 have already been recovered. But 13,733 patients died from complications of the disease.
