Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced the relief of the quarantine restrictions on May 11 and called for conditions under which the next phase of aid will come faster.

He announced this on Facebook.

The head of government recalled that from Monday in Ukraine some restrictions will be partially lifted and the concept of adaptive quarantine will begin to work. This means that local authorities, taking into account the epidemic situation in each specific region, will be able to make autonomous decisions to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Shmygal thanked the Ukrainians who adhered to the quarantine:

“I want to thank separately all the Ukrainians who faithfully followed the quarantine rules during these 2 months. I know it was not easy, but they really saved thousands of lives and made it possible to better prepare our medical system for the challenges of the pandemic,” he wrote. .

“Now comes the most crucial moment, because the weakening of the quarantine does not mean that the coronavirus no longer exists or that it has become less dangerous. We must learn to live and work in new conditions. This is a key condition under which the quarantine will not be strengthened, and the next phase of relaxation will come faster, “said the prime minister.

As reported, since March 12, the government introduced quarantine in Ukraine to counter the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. In particular, commercial establishments were closed, with the exception of supermarkets, pharmacies, service stations and banks. Subway work in Kiev, Kharkov and the Dnieper stopped, the movement of ground transportation in cities, intercity and interregional services of cars, railways and air stopped.

On May 4, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine until May 22, but as of May 11 the restrictive measures will be weakened.

According to the Ministry of Health, as of the morning of May 9, 15,232 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Ukraine, of which 522 on the last day.
